# FuelOracle in ChatGPT and Claude

Connect FuelOracle to ChatGPT or Claude and ask about your trips, fuel prices and fuel plans in plain English.

FuelOracle is a ChatGPT plugin and a Claude connector. Once connected, the assistant reads your own FuelOracle account: your trips, their fuel plans, your vehicles and caravans, and current fuel prices from the state government schemes.

## What you can ask

- "What trips do I have planned in FuelOracle?"
- "What's the cheapest diesel near Katherine, NT right now?"
- "Show the fuel plan for my next trip. Where do I stop and what will fuel cost?"

The assistant asks before it changes anything in your account.

## Who can use it

AI assistant access is included with a paid Trip Pass or Full Lapper plan. It isn't part of the free trial.

## Before you connect

In FuelOracle, go to **Settings > AI assistant**, turn on access and accept the [AI Assistant Access Terms](/ai-assistant-terms). You can do this in the app or on the web.

## Connect ChatGPT

1. Open ChatGPT, find FuelOracle in the plugins and install it.
1. Sign in with your FuelOracle account when ChatGPT asks, and choose what ChatGPT may do.

## Connect Claude

Connect Claude on the web at claude.ai or in the Claude desktop app. The Claude iPhone and Android apps don't list FuelOracle, but once it is connected it works there too.

1. Open Customize, then Connectors.
1. Choose Discover, search for FuelOracle and choose Connect. FuelOracle's listing is at [claude.ai/directory/fueloracle](https://claude.ai/directory/fueloracle).
1. Sign in to FuelOracle when asked, and choose what Claude may do.

Claude Code signed in with the same Claude account picks up the connector too.

## Another assistant

Any assistant that supports MCP servers can connect. Add a server with the address `https://fueloracle.app/mcp`, the HTTP transport and OAuth, then sign in to FuelOracle when asked. FuelOracle shows it as an unverified app on the connection screen.

## What a connected assistant can and can't do

Nothing is connected until you approve it on the FuelOracle connection screen, which names the app and what it will be able to do. Within those permissions an assistant can read and change your trips and their fuel plans, your vehicles and caravans, and look up fuel prices and places. It can't change your password, email address, passkeys, billing or payment details, and it can't delete your account.

What the assistant receives is handled by the company that runs it, under its own privacy policy: OpenAI for ChatGPT, Anthropic for Claude. See the [Privacy policy](/privacy) for what FuelOracle keeps.

## Turning it off

Go to **Settings > AI assistant** to disconnect one app, or turn access off altogether. A connected assistant stops working straight away.
