## Planned for your rig and the road ahead.

Tell it your car, your van and your route. FuelOracle works out the fuel for every leg from the rig's weight and drag, the forecast wind, the climbs and the road surface, so a gravel leg into a headwind costs what it really will. It finds the longest run without fuel before you get there, and counts the jerry cans you carry.

Each stop is checked for what a big rig needs: height and room to get in and out with a van on the back. Prices come from every state's official feed, so it can buy just enough to reach cheaper fuel up the road. Skip a stop you don't like with one tap, and the rest of the trip re-plans around it.

**Gold Coast to Katherine, June 2026** (3,177 km · longest run without fuel 572 km)

Gold Coast (3 m) → Roma (305 m) → Longreach (184 m) → Cloncurry (198 m) → Barkly Homestead (229 m) → Daly Waters (211 m) → Katherine (111 m)

- Gold Coast (3 m) → Roma (305 m): 18 km/h E
- Roma (305 m) → Longreach (184 m): 25 km/h NNE
- Longreach (184 m) → Cloncurry (198 m): 25 km/h SSW
- Cloncurry (198 m) → Barkly Homestead (229 m): 27 km/h SSE
- Barkly Homestead (229 m) → Daly Waters (211 m): 24 km/h SE
- Daly Waters (211 m) → Katherine (111 m): 18 km/h ESE

Real legs, elevation and wind from the June 2026 crossing. Arrows point the way the wind was blowing, relative to travel. Amber marks the longest run without fuel, 572 km.

## Rule one: don't strand the driver.

### The night before: Will it even make it?

Six waypoints, a van on the back, and two legs that look long on the map. Working it out by hand means a fuel figure you guessed and a distance you rounded.

FuelOracle plans the whole route in one go. Every stop, the litres to buy at each, and a total for the drive. Change your mind about a camp and it does the lot again.

**Stop 3 of 5**

96 L to buy here

- Price: 224.9 c/L
- Cost here: $215.90
- Next fuel: 460 km

Not a full tank. Enough to reach the cheaper fuel at Tennant Creek with your reserve intact.

### At every fuel stop: Plan that adapts as you drive it.

No modelled economy survives a real drive. The wind was not what the forecast said, and by the third leg a fixed plan is describing a trip you are not on.

Tap **I filled up** and enter what you actually put in and actually paid. The planner re-solves every leg ahead from your real gauge reading and your real position.

Do that five times and it stops guessing at your economy altogether. It works out what your rig really drinks from your own fill-ups and calibrates the towing model to that.

**Re-solved after Mount Isa**

- Plan assumed: 71%
- You entered: 62%

Arrive Barkly Homestead with: 29.6 L → 24.1 L

> Under your 25 L reserve. Plan updated: take 18 L at Camooweal.

### Day four, 3pm: The roadhouse is closed.

The bowsers are bagged, there is a note on the door, and the next fuel is another 180 km up the road. This is the moment that decides whether the trip was planned or hoped.

You are still fine, because the margin was never spent. The planner will not build a leg that finishes below your reserve, and it counts your jerry cans as real fuel.

**Rule one**

Don't strand the driver. Every leg must finish with your reserve still in the tank, and nothing in the planner is allowed to trade that away for a cheaper stop.

> 40 L in cans available. Not counted in the plan.

### The other side: What did it actually cost?

The trip or leg is done and the question everyone asks at the caravan park or around the fire is: what the fuel cost came to, or what your L/100km was. Usually the answer is a shrug, a rough guess or the average reading your car gave you.

Every trip you plan stays on your Trip Atlas and provided as a Trip Report. Where you went and what it cost, so next year's version starts from this year's.

**Trip total**

$1,043 fuel, 2,410 km

- Average paid: 218.4 c/L
- Towing economy, actual: 19.8 L/100
- Cans used: 0 L

## No other tool gets it right.

Fuel lookup apps tell you a fuel price in a location, but can't know if you'll make it. Your best guess of fuel economy goes out the window with a bad headwind. Every planning decision made by FuelOracle is cautious because of something that has happened on a real trip, from the roadhouse that was closed on arrival to the leg where the estimate proved optimistic into a westerly. That QLD to NT run came to 9,462 km towing, 31 fuel stops and 1,726 litres. Every lesson learnt went into FuelOracle.

- **Official price data, every state and territory**: FuelCheck, SERVOSaver, FuelPricesQLD, FuelWatch, MyFuelNT and the South Australian scheme. Traveller reports fill the gaps and are labelled as such.
- **Published planning rules**
  1. Don't strand the driver.
  2. Plan for contingencies.
  3. Save money, but never override 1 or 2.
  4. Don't waste your time.
- **A passion project, not a business plan**: Built to solve one driver's own problem, then shared because it solved other people's too. No ads, no third-party tracking or cookies, and nobody buying your trip data.

## Features

- **Multi-stop routes**: Camps, towns, rest stops and attractions
- **Fill strategy**: How many litres at each stop, not just where
