FuelOracle AI Assistant Access Terms

1. About these terms
1.1 These terms apply when you turn on AI assistant access and connect an AI assistant, such as Claude, to your FuelOracle account.
1.2 You accept these terms by ticking the box to accept them when you turn on AI assistant access. They then form part of your agreement with FuelOracle, together with the FuelOracle Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, which continue to apply.
1.3 If these terms and the Terms of Use are inconsistent, these terms apply to AI assistant access to the extent of the inconsistency.
2. What AI assistant access is
2.1 AI assistant access lets an AI assistant that you connect read and change your own FuelOracle account on your instructions: your profile and preferences, home location, vehicles, caravans, weigh-ins, trips, fuel plans, fuel records and notifications, and look up fuel prices and places. It works through a secure connection using the Model Context Protocol, signed in with OAuth. The assistant only ever sees and changes your own account.
2.2 The Model Context Protocol is an open standard. The FuelOracle service, including its trip planning, fuel plans and the way it compiles and presents information, remains FuelOracle's. Government fuel price data remains subject to the licences described in section 9.
3. Your licence
3.1 Subject to these terms, FuelOracle gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable and limited licence to use AI assistant access to connect an AI assistant to your own FuelOracle account for your own trip planning.
4. Who can use it
4.1 AI assistant access is available to accounts on a paid Trip Pass or Full Lapper plan, and to founding members. It is not included in the free plan or in a free trial.
4.2 If your plan ends or lapses, your connected assistants stop working until you have a qualifying plan again.
5. Personal use only
5.1 You may use AI assistant access only for your own personal, non-commercial trip planning. You must not:
(a) sell, resell, rent, license or otherwise provide access to the service, or to your connection, to anyone else;
(b) use the service for a business, or to provide services to other people;
(c) share your FuelOracle account, sign-in details, or an assistant's connection or tokens with anyone else;
(d) use the service to collect, copy or harvest fuel prices, station details or other data in bulk, or to build or supply a dataset, product or service;
(e) use information from the service to train, fine-tune or improve an AI model, or to build a knowledge base or dataset for anyone other than yourself;
(f) try to get around the usage limits, access anything other than your own account, or interfere with the service; or
(g) use the service in breach of any law.
5.2 These restrictions apply to your use of the FuelOracle service. They do not limit any rights you have under an open data licence that applies to the underlying government data when you obtain that data from its source.
6. Your AI assistant is a separate service
6.1 Your AI assistant is not part of FuelOracle. It is provided by another company, or run by you or by someone you choose (a self-hosted assistant). When you connect it, the information it asks FuelOracle for, which can include your home location, trips and vehicle details, is sent to that assistant and is handled by whoever runs it, under their terms and privacy policy.
6.2 You choose the assistant and how it is set up, including whether it keeps a memory of your conversations and whether your conversations may be used to improve its models. Check those settings with your assistant's provider, or in your own set-up if you host it.
6.3 FuelOracle does not control what the assistant does with that information or what it tells you.
6.4 You are responsible for the cost of your AI assistant, including any subscription or usage charges, and for your own internet and data costs.
6.5 FuelOracle checks the identity of some assistants. Any other assistant is shown to you as an unverified app, together with the internet address its access is sent to. FuelOracle has not checked who runs an unverified app. Only allow one that you set up yourself or that you trust, after checking that address.
6.6 If you host an assistant yourself, you are responsible for keeping it, and the access it holds to your account, secure.
6.7 We may stop accepting unverified apps, or a particular app, at any time.
7. You are responsible for what you ask it to do
7.1 Actions an assistant takes through the connection, including changing or deleting records, are treated as your actions.
7.2 Assistants can ask for your approval before changing or deleting anything. Check what they propose before you approve it. Deleted records cannot be recovered.
8. Check the results, and never while driving
8.1 AI assistants can make mistakes. Fuel prices can change and stations can be closed or out of fuel. Check any plan, price or instruction in the FuelOracle app before you rely on it.
8.2 Do not use an AI assistant, or interact with FuelOracle, while you are driving.
9. Fuel price data
9.1 Fuel prices come from Australian state and territory government fuel price schemes and are provided with the notices those schemes require. Keep those notices with any prices you share.
9.2 FuelOracle is an independent app. It does not represent a government entity. Prices are indicative only and may differ from the price at the bowser.
10. Fair use and usage limits
10.1 AI assistant access is for fair use: use that is reasonable and not excessive for one person planning their own trips.
10.2 To keep the service reliable, the number of actions an assistant can take is limited, per minute and per day, separately for reading, changing and deleting. Creating a fuel plan also counts towards your plan's daily plan limit. The current limits are shown in Settings.
10.3 FuelOracle, acting reasonably, may lower your limits, limit how often an assistant can act, or suspend your AI assistant access where:
(a) your use is more than fair use, or goes over the usage limits;
(b) demand is at or near what the service can handle;
(c) it is reasonably needed for the security or continued operation of the service, or while the service is degraded or unstable;
(d) FuelOracle reasonably believes you have breached, or are likely to breach, these terms or the Terms of Use; or
(e) a provider of data used by the service requires it.
11. Turning it off and disconnecting
11.1 You can disconnect any assistant, or turn AI assistant access off entirely, at any time in Settings. Disconnecting takes effect immediately.
11.2 Connections also end 30 days after you sign in, and you then sign in again from your assistant.
12. Suspension and ending access
12.1 FuelOracle may suspend or end your AI assistant access, and disconnect your assistants, for any of the reasons in section 10.3, or to protect the service or other users. Where it is reasonable to, we will tell you why.
13. Records we keep
13.1 When you accept these terms we record the date and time, the version you accepted, and the IP address and browser details used, as a record of your acceptance.
13.2 For each action an assistant takes we keep a log of the action, when it happened, which assistant made it and whether it succeeded, for 90 days. We do not keep the content of your requests in that log.
14. Changes
14.1 AI assistant access is new and may change.
14.2 If we change these terms, your assistants stop working until you accept the new version in Settings. If we stop offering AI assistant access, we will tell you in the app.
15. Definitions
In these terms:
AI assistant means an artificial intelligence service, such as Claude, that you connect to your FuelOracle account, whether another company provides it or you host it yourself.
Unverified app means an AI assistant whose identity FuelOracle has not checked.
AI assistant access means the FuelOracle service that lets a connected AI assistant read and change your account, and the connection it uses.
Connection means an AI assistant you have authorised to use your account, until you disconnect it or it ends.
Fair use has the meaning in section 10.1.
Terms of Use means the FuelOracle Terms of Use at fueloracle.app/terms.
